The Kashmir Files on ZEE | Movie Review

Though it is too late to give a verdict on the Kashmir files movie but it is needed to explain out. The movie definitely has a soul and a worth watching story of such an event that would shake a viewer to core. It is a very successful story and the Indian population needed it to be heard. The movie is cinematic and it is not hundred percent real events but just watching it would confirm that the real incidents were million times more horrific than what could be displayed here on screen.

A fact that is needed to submit about this movie is it's very poor script writing and rather failed screenplay. This movie got hype because of the subject was untouched till date and the mass needed to be aware of it's dreadful past via cinematic experience. But it could be scripted far way better than this. The dialogues and writing is so flat to impress and explain this mass genocide. The act of Anupam Kher seems theatrical than cinematic. An actor of his caliber is wasted in this storyline. What hurt the most about the movie is the climax. Pathetic dialogue delivery for such a long monologue. A viewer needed to stick to the storytelling that was faded towards the end.

The director somehow forgot what he was trying to create. This is more of a documentary that is very poorly executed. The genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and their Exodus from their homeland Kashmir is the past that every Indian citizen must know and remember. This movie could definitely ignite the thought in other minds to create a better execution on screen to show and realise that horror for kashmiri pandits.

Full marks for the thought and paving a way for others but not even passing marks at this cinematic execution.
